Albert Camus The Outsider Meursault
Albert Camus The Outsider Meursault Statement of intent: This assignment is based on Albert Camus The Outsider. One of the classic examples of an existentialist novel, The Outsider tells the story of an unremarkable man, living a simple, bachelor existence in Algeria. He is unmoved by his mothers death, and a day after begins a love affair with Marie Cordona. He soon after becomes involved in a violent murder and is placed on trial. Because of his refusal to lie and give in to societys demands (pretending to feel grief and remorse), he eventually condemns himself and is put to death. In this assignment I wish to convey Marie Cordonas feelings about Meursault and her view of his case. Marie is a simple, uncomplicated girl who enjoys life, appears to fall in love easily, wants to marry Meursault and live a normal life. Though she is slightly shocked when Meursault tells her that his mother died only a day before their meeting at the pool, she does not rethink spending time with him or watching a comedy with him. Like Meursault, Marie takes pleasure in physical contact; she often kisses him and enjoys the act of sex. However, Meursaults affection for Marie is purely physical while her affection for him evokes a deeper sentimental and emotional attachment. At first she doesnt understand Meursaults character and is taken aback by his indifference of love: She asked me if I loved her. I told her that it didnt mean anything but that I didnt think so. She looked sad. When Meursault expresses the same attitude towards marriage, again she is confused However, though she may be disappointed, she never considers ending the relationship or does not rethink her desire to marry him and indeed, throughout the novel I believe she starts to gain an acceptance of his behaviour, an understanding perhaps. Her attraction towards him seems, in fact, to stem from the fact that she is intrigued by his persona, his strange behavior seems to be part of his appeal for her She mumbled that I was peculiar, that that was probably why she loved me but that one day I might disgust her for the very same reason. Marie remains loyal to Meursault when he is arrested and put on trial, she visits him in prison and writes him letters and then testifies in his favor during the court case. She remains faithful and hopeful and imagines a life once Meursault is let out: she was still smilingshe shouted again, Youll get out and well get married! Marie never expresses appall or anger towards Meursault or his actions, she never doubts that he is an innocent man and that the crime he committed does not reflect his true self: Marie burst into tears and said it wasnt like thatshe knew me and I hadnt done anything wrong However, because Marie stays hopeful throughout, she never reaches the understanding Meursault attains at the end. While Meursault realizes and accepts the indifference of the universe, Marie never understands the redemptive value of abandoning hope, and her hope is therefore shattered when Meursault is eventually put to death. For the purpose of this assignment, it has been imagined that there were some sort of funeral proceedings after Meursaults execution. After all, though his strange behaviour remained a mystery to most that surrounded him, many did not judge him and accepted him as he was, knowing that, despite his actions he was not an evil man, nor did he have a criminal mind. By assuming that there were funeral proceedings, a situation is created where a eulogy from the perspective of one of the people of Meursaults close entourage wouldve been spoken out. Marie, having been intimately involved with him and having been one of those who observed and tried to analyse him, seems to be an appropriate choice for this task. A eulogy should be personal; it shares happy memories, tells anecdotes and describes the persons character. It also aims to express the values that were important to the deceased, highlights accomplishments and career or educational merits. The aim of this assignment is therefore to do this from Maries point of view, about Meursault. The eulogy: I once asked Meursault if he loved me. It doesnt mean anything he replied, but I dont think so. One would naturally feel offended by such a response, and I wasat first. But I soon came to understand that this was Meursault. This was Meursault in his all his splendor and it is for this peculiar nature of his that I believe I was attracted to him, loved him even. I first met Meursault when I was working as a typist in the office where he worked. He had always struck me as handsome young man, charming and somewhat mysterious. We had connected and enjoyed each others company. However it was short lived as I soon found a job elsewhere and left the company. I had not seen him for several months when we bumped into each other at the bathing station at the port It is true that I wouldnt have thought for a single moment that his mother had died only a day earlier; we spent a wonderful afternoon swimming and enjoying the sun together, I was happy, he was happy, and we just felt so comfortable around each other that we engaged in a relationship that very day. I was slightly taken aback when he told me his mother had died the day before, and it didnt seem natural that he would he take me out to see a Fernandel film after such an event, but I must admit that I had soon forgotten about it. After all we were both just two young people, enjoying an easy life, a life that, for Meursault, in spite of everything had not really changed. So why were we to deprive ourselves? Meursault was an intelligent man, though not ambitious. He valued his simple yet exotic life, over a wealthier career opportunity in Paris. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; lazing on the beach, swimming in the sea, going to cinemas It is always something I loved about spending time with him, I always felt carefree, relaxed, beautiful. I could always be myself around him, he never judged or complained. Ill miss our beach excursions, our romantic nights to the cinema, and our playful adventures in the sea. Meursault was uninterested in grieving death, proposing marriage, loving even. But he had a passion for something I believe to be much more admirable. Honesty was what I valued most in him. He was an honest man, purely and sometimes painfully, and maybe he did not love me in the conventional sense of the word, but he was in love with something much greater, something our society today seems to value less and less; Meursault was stubbornly yet admirably in love with truth. I still remember visiting him at the prison; I was so full of hope and blind determination that when it would all be over, we would be married, and we would go swimming again, we would enjoy life together. Maybe I thought the jury would be able to see the man he really was, the man I knew, and would spare him. Yes, he did kill a man. Yes, he never showed grief for his mothers death. But he was no murderer. He was a criminal only to our societys rules and codes of conduct. Is it wrong not to pretend grief? Not to pretend remorse? Love? In this conventional society yes; pretending and lying would have saved Meursault. But he was true to himself, he refused to be a hypocrite and pretend to emotions he did not feel and for that I believe he cannot be blamed. Unfortunately it is for that reason that he was condemned and that he is no longer here with us today. But I hope that all of you gathered here now, think of him like I do, not as a murderer, not as a criminal, but as a man who, without any heroic pretensions, agreed to give his life for the truth. And for this I believe he deserves our respect and admiration. Meursault, je taime.

Overcoming an Obstacle Essay
There are many disadvantages and obstacles that can occur through all people. Though they may be a major set back, many people donââ¬â¢t realize that these obstacles can be used to their advantage. Most people encounter an obstacle or disadvantage and give up not knowing it could be turned into something positive. When we are faced with an obstacle, we can all roll up our sleeves and find a way to turn the situation good. For example, the founder of TOMS, Blake Mycoskie turned the obstacle of poverty in many countries into an opportunity to improve the lives of others by creating a for-profit organization which gives them, shoes, glasses, and spreads awareness. The first thing the organization provides is shoes for people in over 50 countries. Whenever someone buys a pair of TOMS shoes, one is given a pair in a different country; this is where the slogan ââ¬Å"One for Oneâ⬠came from. Shoes might not seem important to us but it is extremely important to the people who cannot afford them. Shoes help protect childrenââ¬â¢s feet from getting hurt and possibly even getting infected. This means the children will not get sick and be healthy enough to attend school. Not having shoes also affects childrenââ¬â¢s education. Almost every school in any country require shoes as a part of school uniform. If all children received shoes, school attendance would increase by 62%, thatââ¬â¢s a huge difference. If education is increased, that would make people more mobile, and may even end poverty. Even if some schools will allow children to attend without shoes, many will still not attend. Most children are ashamed or embarrassed to go without shoes. However, when they are given a pair of shoes, it boosts their confidence. This helps them want to attend school and contribute to their community. Shoes can make a big difference in someoneââ¬â¢s life, and even change their world. Second, the organization provides eye care to those who are blind or visually impaired. Anytime someone buys TOMS eyewear, eye care is given to someone in need. Approximately 90% of people who are blind or visually impaired live in developing countries. In total, 285 million individuals are blind or visually impaired. However, with eye care, 80% of those cases can be corrected or prevented. Most people suffer from cataracts, which is the leading cause of blindness. Cataracts can be cured with just a 15-minute surgery, which is paid for when we buy TOMS eyewear. à As we enjoy our new sunglasses, people in other countries are receiving prescription eyewear and medical treatment which helps treat eye injuries and infections. When vision is restored, it gives individuals the opportunity to return to school or work. Adults can get financially stable and no longer require extra care. Of course we all know how important vision is, so giving someone the opportunity to see is a great feeling. There are many other ways to participate, not just buy buying the products, but to put your self in their ââ¬Å"shoesâ⬠for a day. Lastly, TOMS also has a certain day out of the year to spread awareness of the way other people live. For example, on April 16, 2013, was ââ¬Å"One day without shoesâ⬠. The purpose of this was for everyone to be barefoot for a day, just like children in other countries are everyday. Not only does it spread awareness, but also helps us to appreciate what we have. Another event by TOMS is ââ¬Å"World Sight Dayâ⬠which was on October 10, 2013. This is when everyone wears his or her TOMS sunglasses, even inside, just to show you were apart of something bigger than yourself. Both events are great ways to show your support, and many more are on their way. Anything can be changed, even obstacles that seem impossible to overcome. Who knew that a pair of shoes could help end poverty? If everyone gave his or her part, the world could make a drastic change. Just because something seems to hard, doesnââ¬â¢t mean it cannot be achieved, it can be as simple as a pair of shoes or an eye exam.

How Not to Build a Bridge Essay - 1726 Words
It is difficult for me to conceive of a thought with more frightening implications than that which leads me to contemplate whether every element of knowledge I assume could conceivably be uncertain in reality. Rene Descartes set out to do just that in one his most famous works, entitled Meditations of First Philosophy; having realized that the beliefs he employed on a daily basis were flawed, Descartes began pursuing a foundationalist framework of knowledge that would enable him to develop certainty from his beliefs. While I agree with Descartesââ¬â¢ notion that the belief of which I can be most certain is my own existence as a thinking thing, I hold that he puts far too much emphasis on his questionable arguments specifically related to theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦To add to the difficulty of finding an idea that could constitute foundational knowledge, Descartes established the criterion of absolute certainty. He does this because he is looking for a foundation that cannot be doubted in any way, and thus, whether or not a belief is possibly doubtable became the determining question, completely disregarding the plausibility of that belief being false as a consideration. Without a doubt, this is a tall order. In Meditation I, Descartes shows just how difficult it was to find a belief that could meet the rigorous qualifications he set forth. For the sake of efficiency, he accepts the idea that he is unable to reject each and every belief that he has, and instead elects to target what he views are the three primary foundational beliefs (his knowledge of the material world, knowledge of the existence of the material world, and mathematical knowledge) on which his non-foundational beliefs are based. He first considers his knowledge of the material world, which is acquiredShow MoreRelatedHow Technology Has Changed The World Today1411 Words à |à 6 Pagesresearch paper i will be talking about bridges and their importance to the world today. Abortion and Contraceptives - 1721 Words
Abortion and Contraceptives The term abortion refers to any premature expulsion of a human fetus, whether it has occurred spontaneously or not. This is often known as a miscarriage or artificially induced termination. The most common usage of the term abortion in todays society is induced. Abortion and contraception vary between two different acts, one which prevents a life from coming to be and abortion which takes a life that has already commenced. Contraceptives could also be described as birth control, some of them are abortifacients and function by causing early term abortions but in some rare cases. (popcorn.org) Women are able to use contraceptives to prevent abortion; in my opinion abortion should not be used as an option. Women might think that when they get an abortion, they are not killing a human being because it is only a fetus, but the fetus is a baby inside that did not ask to be produced and they deserve to get a life, so why make it suffer through an abortion? In todays society, contraceptives are used widely to avoid abortion because accidents do happen. Contraceptives will reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and abortions. It will also prevent the extent of sexually transmitted diseases. Contraception is often used as the solution to accidents when women are sexual active. After all, parents do expect their children to do well in life, but sometimes those expectations could place too much of a burden on their children. Most parents worry about the ââ¬Å"Big Câ⬠, college, which is shown through many of their expectations on their childââ¬â¢s academics, extra-curriculumââ¬â¢s, and sometimes future careers. A study in 2007 by the Childs Trend Databank shows that 69. We will write a custom essay sample on Parenting: a Balancing Act or any similar topic only for you Order Now 7% parents expected their children from 6th to 12th grade to receive a Bachelorââ¬â¢s degree or higher. Easier said than done right? Of course, the parent might fill their childââ¬â¢s schedule with dozens of E. Cââ¬â¢s and A. P classes to make them stand out in the college applications, but that does not mean they will automatically get into any university or college. Like in the article, ââ¬Å"Taming the Overachieving Monsterâ⬠, the composer, Callie Schweitzer, writes: ââ¬Å"Does being class president, captain of the track team, and sole organizer of the schoolââ¬â¢s clothing drive add up to a top college acceptance? No. All it guarantees is stress. â⬠Parenting requires balance between high and low expectations, a task not to be taken lightly. Thus, parents need to learn how to limit their own expectations of their children due to the stress it causes on them. In some cases, the parents put their children in many after-school programs and encourage them to do more if they want to. You read "Parenting: a Balancing Act" in category "Essay examples" Of course, not all children look forward to doing so much and simply want to hang around with their friends or go out shopping. However, this sometimes leads to conflict between parent and child. ââ¬Å"I only want to relax in my room and talk on Facebook and have fun, but my mom yells at me to go do more practice work for the SATââ¬â¢s. says Anonymous 1, a student. The SATââ¬â¢s, or the super important test for college, is one of the few tests that is required by colleges in order to apply to them. Out of a maximum 2400 points, parents expect their children to score high in order for them to get into a good college, but to get a high score in the SATs is not exactly the eas iest task to do. Some parents expect 2400, some expect 2000 and up, but it still adds more stress to their child when their already grueling schedule is weighted down even more with SAT preparatory classes. Back in the article, ââ¬Å"Taming the Overachieving Monsterâ⬠, Callie Schweitzer states, ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s natural to want your child to succeed, but what, exactly, qualifies as achievement? Too many of todayââ¬â¢s parents define it as a 2400 on the SATs*, a schedule full of AP classes, and extracurricular activities that take up every afternoon of the school week. Parents often dismiss the reality of the hours of homework this kind of academic load entailsâ⬠. And it is quite true; some parents do often dismiss the amount of workload coming from all these academic loads. In a clear sense, parents need to get rid of college rankings or reputations because any college can give their children a good education despite the rank, if their children actually work hard and try. Just because a college or university is ranked high does not mean that going to any college that is not ranked high nor has a great reputation like the ââ¬Å"Ivy Leaguesâ⬠will not give a good education. After all, even if you have a degree from a ââ¬Å"prestigiousâ⬠college, there is no guarantee that employers will fight for you or you getting instant jobs the moment you step out. Like in the article, ââ¬Å"Taming the Overachieving Monster,â⬠Callie Schweitzer, quotes, Alexandra Robbins, best-selling author of The Overachievers: The Secret Lives of Driven Kids. Robbins writes,â⬠ââ¬â¢Forget the name-brands, forget the reputations in your area and social circles, and for goodness sake, throw the college rankings in the trash. ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬ Getting a job takes your own effort and time, not solely on getting a degree from a ââ¬Å"super-ranked collegeâ⬠. ââ¬Å"My parents expect me to get into the UCââ¬â¢s only and not any State schools or City Colleges,â⬠replies Anonymous 5, yet another student worried about their future paths. To be honest, it really is up to the student to choose which college he or she wants to go to and not the parent deciding which college for them. True, any parents can expect their child to do well in school and life, but even that can lead to too much of a burden upon their child. It must be taken into account that not all students enjoy studying for school or even actually going to school. After all, everyone is different, but that is not really taken into account when it comes to schooling or work. As in many cases, there are good and bad sides to expectations from parents. In some cases, it can be harmful or stressful for the student and sometimes helpful. ââ¬Å"My mom expects a lot out of me and I do find it wearing at times, but I do believe that it helps me work harder in school,â⬠informs Anonymous 2, another student. Sometimes, children with high expectations from parents feel the urge to do well in sports or school to meet their parentââ¬â¢s expectations. Of course, to set yourself high and fail lets you learn from your mistakes and reevaluate your pathway from that. High expectations also means that kids may not be as lazy or lax about doing well in life because setting a goal in life, whether it be made by the parent or child, does help lead the way in the future. Some students have greater confidence for themselves because they know that they can achieve high expectations from their parents as well as goals. In the article, ââ¬Å"Debate: Parental Expectationsâ⬠, the writer, Lu Shizhen, writes, ââ¬Å"Parental expectations can motivate children to build a strong mind and encourage them to achieve their best academic performance. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with parents who pin expectations on the development of their children. However, such parental expectations should be realistic. â⬠Unfortunately, planning to aim high is a good idea, but making realistic goals to achieve is not the easiest thing to do. Also, in some cases, parents might not recognize the successes of their children managing to achieve the expectations that the parents have set, which winds up leaving the child not enjoying to succeed or have major goals. ââ¬Å"I do what my mom expects me to do all the time, but most of the time, my mom gives me even harder things to accomplish,â⬠says Anonymous 3. Not all kids feel like doing every last thing parents throw at them and parents need to learn how to respect that. After all, some parents do not see how their expectations stress their children out more than it actually helps them. Eventually the stress can be too much and might crack in your child dropping of many kinds. Parents should not expect their child to live up to every expectation, because everyone has different wants, likes, personalities, hates, etc. Just like in the article, ââ¬Å"Why Canââ¬â¢t Johnny Jump Tall Buildings? , the composer Alan Kazdin tells us, ââ¬Å"Just remember, as you go about it, that itââ¬â¢s only human for parents to tend to expect that our children can do more than they can really do. Even slight adjustments of your expectations to compensate for that tendencyââ¬âa little more emphasis on shaping, a little more patience, a little reflection on whatââ¬â¢s really important to you as a parent and what behaviors can be left to disappear or develop on their ownââ¬âcan produce surprisingly excellent results. â⬠Parents expect a lot out of their children because they truly want the best from them, but often times it can go too far. Many parents do not want their children to follow their path, especially if their path was filled with difficulty and problems that they do not want their children to face, so they want to see them do better and have a life without any of the hardship their parents have faced. However, some parents force their children to do extra work in order for them not to face the problems they had and not everyone likes doing extra work. ââ¬Å"Well, itââ¬â¢s true that I want my kids to achieve far in life, but I also know that I probably sometimes do a bit too muchâ⬠, says Anonymous 5, a mother of 3. After all, parentââ¬â¢s expectations come from their care, but even that could be too much for their child. Of course, parents would not mind their kids to get into ââ¬Å"name brand, great reputation collegesâ⬠, but that would be up to the child. â⬠I do believe that my parents want me to achieve well in life and all, but they sometimes annoy me to no end. â⬠says Anonymous 6, a student, ââ¬Å"I really hate it when Iââ¬â¢m doing something I, myself, want to do, but then my parents yell at me to do something they want me to do. Their Intentions are good, but they need to know about my own feelings when it comes to their expectations. Teenagers have a lot to say about a wide range of topics, but when it comes to their parents it can be endless. After all, the looming threat of college in the typical teenagerââ¬â¢s life causes anxiety for both the teen and parent. Unfortunately, that anxiety could lead to a split in the parent and child relationship. ââ¬Å"Som etimes their expectations are too much for me to do. I do one good thing, but they view more of the bad things I do,â⬠says Anonymous 4, another student, ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s hard to achieve what they want. I understand them, but I wish they understood me more as well. Their expectations affect my life both in a good way and bad way since it makes me work harder, but leads to me getting a lot of stress and frustrations. â⬠After all, do parents truly understand their childrenââ¬â¢s feelings? Perhaps not. Due to the anxiety to see their children get into college and doing well in their life, some parents do not take the teenagerââ¬â¢s feelings into consideration. ââ¬Å"They do expect me to do well in school, and to achieve my goals, but not to do anything I want,â⬠says Anonymous 5, ââ¬Å"Sure, they want me to do what I really want to pursue and become in life, but at times they can be confusing to me. Of course, not all parents expect so much out of their children, but not to the point where expectations are completely lacking. ââ¬Å"My mom, she doesnââ¬â¢t expect me to be perfect, with great grades, 4. 0ââ¬â¢s, or anything, so we get along fine. I do not find that affects my life that much, although my siblings influence m y good grades in school, because I do not want to follow what they did in their lives. Expectations have its ups and downs, but everyone views it differently. ââ¬Å"My mom expects me to get 4. 0ââ¬â¢s and to get as many E. Aââ¬â¢s as possible, which I do not find likable. Many times, we argue over the stress of my achieving well and the threat of college, but it usually never ends well. I believe that my life is more stressed and frustrated than before and I am getting tired of it,â⬠says Anonymous 6. In the end, parents definitely need to at least try to see if their children are becoming stressed out trying to pass their expectations. However, are expectations from parents really needed? Truthfully, expectations can help improve the mind set of students and their own expectations of doing well for themselves. A lack of expectations might lead to a drop in schoolwork and an allowance of bad grades. Students with uncaring parents might wind up with themselves having low expectations on grades what they expect in life from their parents. Some students believe that their parentââ¬â¢s expectations really are not needed in their already stressed lives. ââ¬Å"Well, I could just put my parentââ¬â¢s voices onto a tape recorder and that would be good enough. I hate how they want me to do all this stuff when I just want to do things I really want to do. I find the expectations unneeded in my life because they just add more stress in my life and annoy me to no end,â⬠states Anonymous 1. This came from a friend who particularly has a bad relationship with his parents. Some students think that their parentââ¬â¢s expectations help them, but dislike them at the same time. ââ¬Å"I think that my parentââ¬â¢s expectations help me believe that I can do well and it makes me work harder, but sometimes it becomes too much. Because if I do well, my parents expect me to even better and even if I do well in one spot, they look at a bad spot, which is frustrating,â⬠tells Anonymous 4. ââ¬Å"I do think that my parentââ¬â¢s expectations help me make goals in my life, but I hate it. At first, I do think they suck, but I do realize that expectations from my parents are not that bad, it is just that they sometimes expect too much out of me and ticks me off. â⬠says Anonymous 6. From this, parentââ¬â¢s expectations do have an impact on their childrenââ¬â¢s lives both negatively and positively. In the end, some students wish to deal with their parentââ¬â¢s expectations, but do not know how to do so. In Elizabeth Ryanââ¬â¢s, Straight Talk About Parents, she recommends talking to your parents on the ââ¬Å"rulesâ⬠or ââ¬Å"choresâ⬠you have to do and why they bother you. After all, talking aloud with your parents about your problems with their expectations is definitely a start to compromising. She says that if you want to handle these problems, then start by asking yourself: What are the rules in my family? What are the rules do I think are clear to everyone? Which rules do I think are not clear to everyone? What can I do to get the unclear rules to be clearer? Which rules do I think are fair? Which rules do I think are unfair or unnecessary? Which rule am I the most upset about? Think about your parentââ¬â¢s feelings and not just your own, they might only just want the best out of you. Try to make your parents listen to your reasons on why they are ââ¬Å"badâ⬠with their expectations. Instead of always disagreeing and arguing, try to find things to agree on instead of nagging each other. Take note of your own feelings as well as your parents because they might just be taking note of your well-being or future. In case you may not feel like talking to your parents, why not talk to a good friend? Friends should always be there for each other, especially in times of hardship. Talk to your friend about your problems and what they think you should do. If not, just let it out. Yes, crying is human nature and a way of releasing emotion instead of bottling it up. If youââ¬â¢re mad you can just punch the stuffing out of your pillow, you just might find that you feel better after beating your anger out. Hopefully, parents might one day learn how to balance their expectations to not be too much or too little. It might take a while because, after all, parenting is quite the balancing act. Anonymous 1. Essay on A Healthy Lifestyle is the Key to Academic Success Essay Example For Students
Essay on A Healthy Lifestyle is the Key to Academic Success Essay Statement of the Problem What is the relationship between grade point average and a healthy lifestyle among college students? Do college students who participate in a healthy lifestyle tend to earn higher grade point averages than students who do not? How does a studentââ¬â¢s grade point average benefit from the student practicing a healthy lifestyle? How is this relationship mediated by the hours spent studying, gender, race, and socioeconomic status of college students? Rationale Health and wellness is important to how an individual acquires and retains knowledge. Healthy diets are what ensure proper brain development. Fernando Gomez-Pinilla, suggested that ââ¬Å"mechanisms that are involved in the transfer of energy from foods to neurons are likely to be fundamental to the control of brain functionsâ⬠(pg. 572). Our brains require nutrients as well as exercise in order for our brains to function at their best. People often neglect the importance that a healthy lifestyle has on their success academically. Most research studies suggest that effort put forth by parents involvement is what predicts a students academic success, despite the effort expended by either teachers or the students themselves (Paul, 2012). Although parents involvement is crucial to studentsââ¬â¢ academic achievement, a healthy lifestyle is the foundational aspect of academic success. Ultimately, this research, which investigates the impacts of healthy lifestyle on students success, may encourage college students to participate in a healthy lifestyle in order to ensure proper brain development and higher grade point averages.
